Thats the plastic piece getting sucked in. I bet in the air it doesnt do it. Sitting on ground fighting for air. In flight probably eliminates.
I have P200sx on mine and zero issues.

Ragz,

Looks like that is the original turbine shroud, which is not designed to be stiff enough for the P-200. I have a P-200 installed in my Hawk but I'm using the full bypass wih carbon bypass supplied by Marc S, and it works perfectly. You need to either get a new carbon bypass or possibly stiffen the one you have with a layer of carbon fiber laminated to the outside.

I'd recommend getting in touch with Marc and purchasing his full system.

Was that at full power also?
I seldom use full power.
I do have Marc conversion on my new Hawk, but still flying old setup on my older one.
I really doubt it does that while in the air.

David,

Hi reading this thread (and agree on the synopsis) was wondering if you could let me have some pics of your completed SG Hawk - I have very few pictures of clients kits with the conversions fitted and it would be appreciated. If its flown too some video would be fantastic.

PM me if easier.

Probably wont do it in flight but guess the heat around this area when static also softens the shroud and may make it more pliable - with air entering the fuselage in flight it will keep cooler and have less 'suction' to deal with.
Concern would be raised over a lengthy taxi out to takeoff and then the full power to get airborn.

I would certainly run a ring of carbon or even a light strip of aluminium bent round the perimeter and glued or riveted to it...

Marc,
I can send you some as well.
I love the setup and notice a difference vs non bypassed. Well, I flew right by on landing one time!! LOL!!
It doesnt seem to scream to hault anymore with bypass setup.
I think it flys much better with the intakes and bypass system you designed.
Now if I could get you to do the Tomahawk conversion!!
I would order two complete setups!!!

I also noticed my doors didnt try and creap open like on my other. I have so many pictures of my older, non bypassed, with doors creaping open.
Not the new one with your bypass and intakes!!

Glad to hear it, please post and send some pics as I would really like to see them - believe it or not around 12 months working on the design/manufacture and not one video to watch - sad eh!
