Default Wren Turbines USA "OPEN DAY"

Wren Turbines USA will be holding it's 2nd annual "OPEN DAY" on October 16th. The festivities will begin on Friday afternoon at 3 pm for all of the early arrivals, and include the Friday night BBQ and welcoming party.

Saturday will include discussion and turbine design, as well as assembly of a Wren kit, testing on the stand and will offer anyone the chance to bring their motors for a look over. We will also demonstrate balancing a shaft and wheel assembly. The new Wren 75 and 100 will be available for inspection, as well as the Wren 160 Kero Start.

I am currently working on getting a group rate at the Baymont Suites. Details will be posted here as they become available.

Reserve a spot early, as last year we had a full house!!

Chat soon.....

The 75 will replace the MK4/ Wren 70.... 16 pounds of thrust...same case size as the MK1-2-3-4-Wren70 -SS!!!
The 100 is also the same size, but with 22 pounds of thrust.
Both will be offered as Kero start in the future.
The 70 will be offered as a kit through Wren Turbines USA or Wren Turbines Ltd. only, with tech support a phone call away. Cost will be in line with the existing Wren retail pricing.

Here are some pics from the AWSOMEWRENOPENHOUSE. this included a tour of the workshop, actual building of a Wren 75 and 100 turbines, repair of a 120 (mine), several tweaks to various heli turbos, fine tuning some kerostart motors (SWEET)...GREATFOOD..... Demonstrations of balancing a rotor and turbine +compressor removal and replacement and bearing replacement. Most interesting was a long discussion of the 2.4 radio state of the art with plenty of time for Q&A.The twin plane is Ron's new twin turboprot Cessna 425... to be flying in 2011!

More pics...The unusual turbo unit here is actually an older Wren 54 MARINEunit that was purchased off of EBAY and guess what... Itstarted right up!!!!!!! all it needed was some new fuel tubing!!!!!
The test stand measures thrust, fuel pump pressure, and case pressure... it has universal mounts for all turbine sizes... The "GROUP"posed for a final shot at the close of the day on SAT. Next year... BETHERE for some awsome information on turbine care and use +maintenance +really good discussions on what is happening in our great hobby!!! Iwill be posting some videos soon... P.S. pic# 4 across the top is of the new WREN100... 22 LBS OF THRUST... in the small 54 case size... AWSOME Achievement...
