8a esc required but I have a 35a esc
I really should know the answer to this question, but the part I am un-sure of is when using LIPOS can a esc rarted for more amps be used or should I stick with the recommended set up ? which calls for an 8a esc . Please leave weight out of the equation.
P.S. MODERATOR ......where did spell check go ?
Thanks All

As long as the weight of the 35A speed controller isn't a problem. It is always better to use a larger ESC than called for, many of the recommendations from some suppliers is unreliable, in the case where an 8A controller is suggested it would be a good idea to go with a 12A.
Good luck,

Leaving weight out of the equation, there's absolutely no reason you can't use that 35A ESC, for sure. The Amp draw is determined by the battery, motor, and prop. In that vein, you can never have too large of an ESC, but you can have one that's too small.
