Default 35% Rudder horn?

Hi All
I am putting together a Radiowave 35% panzel.

The rudder is not attached yet, who make a good rudder horn that is easy to put on and works great?

Thanks

Bill

http://www.nelsonhobby.com/ has several variables available as do others.

The simplest is the threaded stud and pivot adapters, the best are the two piece dual truss assembly IMO. However they are a little more effort to install, but you get end up with a system that’s spot on.

Keep in mind no matter what you horn type you choose the servo control arm and or bell-crank is a system and should be matched accordingly.

Contact these guys for information and product:

SWB Manufacturing
Surelink
Airwild Hobbies
Nelson Hobby

There are likely others too...

Will your plane be tail heavy? A stainless 5" threaded rod with the Dubro #913 kit was lighter than the Andy Kane single truss rudder horn on my JTEC 35% Extra. I don't know how the Panzl balances.

Oh... question for everyone... has anyone used the Dubro Heavy Duty rudder horns and used the swivel clevis as is... without cutting it shorter? It seems like it will pull on the rod at a funny angle when deflected 45 degrees. Is it durable?

Thanks.

Hi
The plane will be nose heavy, this is my second panzel, I lost the first one for not setting the aircraft up right.
The first one had a carbon fiber tail wheel, this one will have a steel or metal tail wheel.

What would you suggest for a rudder horn then?

Thanks

Bill

Smokey,

Nope... I just got the hinges and canopy this week... 'bout time, eh? You are using the past tense... what happened to it?

Whidbey1,

What do you mean when you say you lost it for not setting it up right? Please explain.

Silliness....I glad you finally got and can go flying. That was a long time to wait for something you paid for a while ago. I still "have" the plane. I decided to change my setup to a single 5735 with a 4" offset bellcrank. Trying to get all the power out of the servo.

Whidbey1.....I have a carbon tail wheel on mine and have had some hard landing. Gear is still in one piece. What happened to yours.
