Evolution/MVVS 26gx front bearing
I ran two 24oz tanks of premium gas and 30:1 Mobil1 racing 2T oil. The engine ran fine, but it leaks around the front of the engine. Does the front bearing have a seal? This is a brand new engine, should I send it in for repair. I have a 2 year old 45gx2 and it does not leak.
Thanks,
George G. Royal

RE: Evolution/MVVS 26gx front bearing
The GX is an evolution engine, that I do not know about.
the MVVS 26cc has a front bearing with seal shield, not a seperata seal. I cannot judge from your mail how much, but if it leaks oil, the engine probably is running, or has been run too hot due to inadequate cooling, which damages the bearing fit and the bearing seal.
If the oil seepage is black, send it in for maintenance.

It is the fuel. I have seen pics of the seals leaking black thick oil/grease on the Evolution 58. It does not look like that. This is a brand new engine that is mounted on a test stand. I went by the manual on break in and kept a check on the temp. The engine never got over 168F and kept the rpms below 7500.
