What kind of paint stand are you using when you paint your jets? I would love to see pictures.
I and a friend both have very large jets which are almost ready to paint. Mine is a JMP T-33 and his is a Century Jet Cougar. I have what I would consider a conventional type paint stand which I have used many times on prop planes where you can bolt the motor mount to the stand. This just will not work on jets in general and especially not for large ones. We have a few ideas on how to do it but were both wondering what everyone else uses.

I use a "Jet Stand" you may still be able to get them from Tom Robertson. I have had mine for several years and really need another one they are the only way to paint a jet. I usually mount my fuse on it sometime early in the building process and don't take it off until after the clearcoat is in place.

aptar,
Since I got a couple of engine stands laying around, I use one of them for painting. All you need is a long piece of 3" PVC pipe and some hard foam to form a bulkhead or two and insert up the ass end of the jet. You can easily rotate the jet around as needed. If you don't have one the engine stands routinely sell for around $39.95 at the local Harbor Freight or Automotive chains and you can break 'em down when not in use.

I also use an engine stand. Should be able to get one for about 40 bucks. For a large model, you may want to run a 1.5 or 2 inch pipe, to hold the model. Works great, and you can rotate it while you paint.
