Default Servicing walbro carb

Hello,

My gas engine is over a year old now with a fair amount of time on it,
what kind of servicing should I do on the walbro ?
Thanks,

L

No service is necssary if your engine is still performing well...If it gets hard to start the carb can be rebuilt with new diaphragms..The kit costs about $5.00...Take the cover off one side at a time, and replace the diaphragms in the exact same order as the old ones...Clean the fine screen under the back cover, the one held on by one screw in the middle...

Well I find the transition is down a little and I am curious to check the screen for muck.
If I open and clean the screen only do I need to change anything ?

RCIGN1 -> I have a Walbro WGA7. I do not see the aforementioned second screen or screw? What model carb are you referring to_bob

All Walbros have a screen...It's on the opposite side of the inlet needle, where it can filter out small pieces of dirt that get in through the gas line...The WGA7 is one of the larger Walbros with both covers held on by 4 screws...The screen is under the die cast cover...Small Walbros use only 1 screw to hold the cover on....

OK, I got it now. Just thought I was missing something. So I am correct in finding only one screen on the WGA7 carb then?
I just ordered a pressure tester and fulcrum gauges to test the pop off pressures on my carbs. I've read where others that have tested found them to be way too high[X(] Do you recommend this procedure, and if so, what is your take on the pressures needed for the 150cc class of engine with this Walbro and the HT Tillotson?
Thanks and have a good day_bob

Yup, only one screen..If you want Walbro's opinion on these pressures you can call Luis Salas, an engineer at Walbro in Cass City, Michigan.. He knows more about their products than a bunch of experimenters flying toy airplanes....
They also have a Tillotson engineer, haven't talked to him lately...
