I saw the 36% fly at last years IMAC in Denver and one of aero-works representitives was flyin it with a DA100 and hitec 59's all over.
The thing looked great sitting next to the hundreds of extras (one was mine) and did all kinds of 3d stuff. But I really want to give the littl 29% a try with my BME.
Mike, let us know when you get yours.

that's one of the reasons I got it just to be different and to have the only one at the field. I have extra's and 540's but never owned a katana. The person at aero works told me the Da 100 is perfect for the plane but the bme's specs and weight have me leaning towards the bme. But it won't be here till april so right now I am gearing up for Chips Double Vision that should be here in a couple of weeks

I saw the Katana dry fit. Nonf of it was final. It was then put back in it's box until the builder finished a current project. From what I've heard he delivered it this week and I'm guessing he'll be starting on the Katana next. Mind you this is the first production prototype, but yes the fit and finish was great. The "flares" coming up to the fuse are built up instead of using fiberglass or abs like many other kits on the market. That's the feature I like. The covering was top notch. I know that the builder is planning on a 3w100 for it, but a bme would be sweet also. I'll try to get some pics throughout the build and some finished ones also. Keep your eyes open at the Toledo show. It'll be the one in the Aeroworks booth.

Aero-works has always done foam except for the Giant profile.
Dont really know if there is any advantage because i have seen some very large models with built up wings fly just fine.
Should be in by april at which point i will decide between the 36 and 29 (probably the 29 cuz i got a BME 50)

On the 36%, the flares are part of the wing. I haven't seen the 29% yet, but I would assume they are the same, as it's just a scaled down version of the 36%

I was working in the aeroworks booth at toledo. The 50cc or 29% is what teammsn bought. I'm glad he did... I was going to get it after the show was over, if it didn't sell... The wife would have KILLED me!! I all ready bought the 33% and the H9 46% ultimate!

It is the 29% on display and the reason I bought it is to save on shipping and duties. I have a new DA50 for it with 5945 servos. The quality is very good for a plane that got around to all the shows. The box it came with was worn from the amount of times it went in and out. TT2 the pins line up perfect. If you pre order you can get it for the same price.

Nope....the yellow 36% has blue and white "invasion" stripes on the bottom of the wing and stab.......
ORIGINAL: raptorbob
Is it all yellow on the bottom too?
