CMOS camera troubles
Hi All,
I tried my first outdoor flight with the wireless CMOS camera yesterday (the cheap one). For some reason, and this is while flying or just holding the DF to test, I only get a normal picture within about 10 feet of the receiver. If I move further than 10 feet away, the picture keeps "rolling" from the top of the screen to the bottom like twice per second. The picture still looks like it is there and clear, but with it rolling like that, its impossible to really see what is going on. I thought maybe the problem was that I had the receiver in a screened in porch so I had my dad open the screen door and point the receiver directly at the DF. Same thing..... the picture won't stay in the screen after about 10 feet. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks
Stro
By rolling I mean that the picture starts in the center of the screen then drops down off the bottom of the screen as the bottom of the picture then enters the top of the screen. This repeats 2 or 3 times a second.

Well, that should have worked, but you might want to try a different TV or video unit just to rule out any problems there...It sounds like it's losing vertical sync. I bet Sky knows what's going on...Video's his department!

RE: CMOS camera troubles
Thanks Sky,
I thought it might be the screened in porch, but once I opened the door I thought that would solve my problems, guess not. I'll have to give it another shot when I can try it away from the porch and out in the open. I'm still lookin for a cheap used TV/VCR combo that I can connect to my car. Seems like the cheapest route for me to go so I can record video.
