I found some of my dads after run oil that 2-3 years old. The consistency of the substancelooks fine from just swishing it around. Though I dont trust just looking at it. I dont want to do more damage than good.

Anyone out there use after run oil longer than 2 years old?

Most after-run oil that I've used in the past is petroleum based, and probably very similar to or the same as automatic transmission fluid. I doubt it will go bad unless its sat in the sun with the bottle open.

FWIW, if your fuel that you use has some castor in it, you probably dont need after run oil unless the engine is going to be stored for longer than 6 months. I run all castor oil in my fuel and I never need ARO to keep the engine rust free.
