a/c crash damaged carb?
a/c flipped onto it's back after poor cross wind landing. The zdz 50ng engine was pulled out of it's engine mount. The only carb damage I could see was the Low mixture needle was bent. After repairs to the a/c and straightening out the needle it is now ready for ground runs. But I now seem to have an engine running problem that was'nt there before the crash. Very difficult to start and when it does start it only runs for a short time. When applying throttle the engine wants to die. I've stripped the carb and cleaned it. It all seems ok except the diaphrams do look worn. My feeling is that it it can only be one of two things. Either the carb is'nt behaving as it should due to blockage or the ignition unit has been shock damaged. Does anyone have any ideas. Also I was thinking that I might replace all the diaphrams in the carb. But I'm not sure which Walbro carb I have on the engine. The jargon you get with the engine does not say. Does any one know which Walbro carb is installed on the 50ng. Thanks.
