sure. but the better question is would it be worth it? No. its too big. an 1/8th scale chassis wouldent have the room nessary to mount it and the fuel tank and the nessary drive line parts without extencive modification and fabrication.

and all the added weight means the shocks wont work. and you will need 1/5 scale servos.
i mean, you can do it sure. but it wont perform like it does with the nitro motor.
a king motors 23cc baja is a smidge over $500. and sometimes you can find a used hpi baja for $500-$600.

If you do some searching in the Traxxas section there is a T-Maxx that was converted to a gas engine. I forget what the thread was called but it was a big one. And, if I remember right, the conversion was done really well.

It can be done, but don't just expect to buy a kit to make it fit. You will need to fabricate some parts.

Way too large and lacks power. My Ryobi weed eater has a 30cc engine at 1 Hp. My HPI Baja has a 26.5cc Zen and puts out about 3 1/2 Hp.

Anything can be done. Pointless? Depends on what your goal is. Maybe it's just to say you did it? I see it as a fun project, way too much work, and the result not ending with any sort of performance. Here's a Savage with a 29cc engine in it:

Wonder how that Baja's motor puts out so much more HP than a similar displaced weed whacker motor. It takes regular 87 octane, right? Perhaps it redlines higher. I tend to think the power outputs claimed by these nitro motor manufacturers are overly optimistic. Would be nice if someone dyno-ed a few different ones (esp. in the RPM range typically run in buggies) to see how they measure up.
