Default Tailwheel Linkage

Ok . . .I have been on a quest for the perfect set-up for a tail wheel (large ohio superstar variation 20lb planes and above). I find myself looking at the tail section of every airplane I see at events like WRAM, and Toledo as well as pictures others have posted here. What method are most of you using? Can someone post some pictures? I have a tailwheel I am setting up for a 1/3 scale laser and want to make it simple, and rock solid. The biggest challenge I seem to have is with the small springs. I am anal, and do not like just "cutting the spring to fit and hook it over a swivel snap." When I do this the springs never fail, but they just do not look that great . . .they flop to one side and do not line up with the linkage like I would like to see. So what is everyone else using?

Thanks!
