Zoom owners fess up please!
Hi Guys. My Zoom 400 lands via FedEx tomorrow and I'll be building it up over the weekend & wondered if any experenced Zoom owners would share thier setups with me. Specifically I'd like the 5 point throttle and pitch curves for normal and idle up 1. Also what's the best pitch range to run? I fly a nitro Kyosho Caliber 30 and had an Eco-8 a couple of years ago and wanted to get back into quiet flying.

RE: Zoom owners fess up please!
hi, i wouldnt say im a super experienced Zoom owner, but i do have 1 and set it up myself. when i set it up i put all trims centered and servo horns at 90 degrees as usual, the hard part was getting the radio settings so i could fly .
Took a little bit of setup in radio but i got it made.
Heres my radio settings,
throttle curve, normal: 0, 25, 90, 90, 90
throttle curve, idle 1: 95, 95, 95, 95, 95
pitch curve, normal: 0, 30, 55, 75, 90
pitch curve, idle 1: 0, 25, 55, 75, 90
Revolution mixing, normal: -20, -10, 0, 10, 20
Revolution mixing, idle 1: -50, -25, 0, 25, 50
end point ajustments, might vary:
ch1 ailerons 75% left and right
ch2 elevator 75% left and right
ch3 throttle 115%
ch4 rudder 30% left and right
ch5 gyro 100%
ch6 pitch 30% (so i only have 7 degree max pitch)
i was told by a 20 yr+ heli vet that 5-7 degrees would be the best pitch range for the Zoom/shogun
These are the setting im using and i get about a 12-15 minute flight hovering and staying in a small area of about 25 sq feet using the stock 3 cell 1600 mah li-poly.
i hope those settings will work for ya!

RE: Zoom owners fess up please!
Yeah, those throttle curves (if you can call em that) remind me of the Eco-8 I used to have. Being a nitro heli pilot it seems strange to have a curve that goes from 0 - 90 in two steps! I'll try a similar setup and see what happens. Either way I guess i'm going to scare the cat again
