Hey All,
Ive been away for a while. We just moved into a new house, and with school, and working, Ive been busy. I also have been attending a weekly session at the Sacramento Technical Highschool, taking Culinary Arts.
To blow the cobwebs off of my forum, Heres a new video flying the Raven from www.3Dfoamy.com

Sweet flyin' Josh,
I love to cook also, but, it's going to take me a bunch more years of practice to fly anywhere near like that.
Nice vid.
By the way, it looks like we are going to be among the first to fly teh 35% foamie. I've been walking around with a 2 oz. bottle of odorless ca for about a week now, just looking for a place to squirt some foam.
See ya,
Ken

RE: 3D Foamy Raven Video
Great video! Great flying too!
I am thinking of picking one of these up myself, waiting on the Raven decal set and figuring out how I'm going to power it as it will be my first 3D electric.
I know many near me that fly these types of aircraft, now I just need to get out and see what people are running, the inconvenient thing about these is that people don't have to take them out the air strip where I can watch!!

I flew it maybe twenty times at the Woodland Davis Toys for Tots just a few weeks ago. See, It flies off of Runways too Gotta justify having landing gear on it other than looking pretty.

Hi Josh,
I just received 2 of Levi's kits. What power set-up did you use on your Raven?
My plan is to use Hacker B20-15L's with Phoenix 25's on both of my planes, probably with
3S1P 1050mAh packs, although I have a few 3S1P 830mAh packs around too.
Yours flew so good makes me curious about what setup you used.
Thanks,
Ken

Hey,
I used the Himax 5400 short can motor, on a Apogee 830 3S1P pack with the Eflight 12x6 prop and Castle Creations 10A ESC
The Hacker 15L would work great also.
Im glad you like the JJ, It flies awesome. The QS will blow you away :-) So precise, agile, and smooth.

RE: 3D Foamy Raven Video
The 830's are enough for decent runtime on that motor? I am looking at the AXI 2212/34, and I hear 1500-2000 mah packs suggested. I am looking at setting up a 3DFoamy Raven from the ground up so I have nothing that I need to build on. I have more or less settled on the Apogee 830 or 1050 3 cell packs. . .if the run times are close enough I would rather save the weight if it doesn't make much difference.
The set up thus far is as follows
3DFoamy Raven (Pro)
CC Phoenix 10
4 Hs55s
AXI 2212/34
and waiting on a berg 6 channel reciever that is back-ordered

RE: 3D Foamy Raven Video
Just replying to my own question ;-P
I went with the 830's and I am 100% glad I did, I get over 14.5 minutes of flight time and more than enough amps out of them on my setup, and the paint covered, fully dressed up, and repired 3DF Raven ends up at 12.9 oz ready to fly despite being rather overbuilt by me.
