Default Revo Rock Crawler

I was curious to know if any one converted a revo into a crawler. And if so how was it done and with what different parts.

Thanks

No, it hasnt been done succesfully. People have used the front and rear ends because you can lock the suspension and use them as solid axles and have amazing ground clearance, but I have never seen a succesfull nitro crawler.

I am building a Revo crawler myself. In general, I don't think it's going to work as well as a solid axle super class crawler. Stick, Hustler, and many other home build clod based crawlers are probably going to be better - BUT - that doesn't mean it won't be cool, and entertaining. Not all crawlers need to be competition level.

I'm starting with converting it to electric. I think electric motors are just more precise. Using a e-maxx transmission, some custom wound motors, and probably just run it 7.4v with some forward/reverse esc and a light lipo. I am unsure if I am going to adapt a mechanical brake, or just rely on the ESC. I'm going to try to make it 4 wheel steer also. Still very much in the planning stages though, I have the Revo and parts, just need to start building.

Wow, there are are some really stupid things done there..........like using a rear bumper on the front because it sticks out further.........bye bye approach angle.

there are some stupid things but thats also pretty cool that they took a r/c car made to race or bash and turned it into a somwhat of a craler it would be like taking a crawler and making it into a racer it wouldnt be easy but it could be done but it wouldnt function as well as the real thing

That was rock racing, not crawling.
