I got ahead of myself and covered the elevators before considering the finished look. I meant to have the entire bottom of the stab and elevators srtiped in the blue and white pattern you see on the stab.

Does it look totally stupid? Or do you think it will look okay on the finished model?

If I leave it-- and I cover the wing in the blue and white stripes-- should I cover the ailerons in all red too or stripe them with the wing??

It's up to you whether it looks good or not. I spent lots of time building mine and ended up recovering one of the wing halves because it just didn't look right. Personally I think it looks okay, but if you aren't happy then don't hesitate to spend the extra couple hours to get it perfect.

Here it is after cutting the red off the bottom and putting the stripes on to match the stab.
