BVM Plug and Play F16
Im seriously considering getting one of the new plug and play F16 from BVM. Are there many flying already? Can actual owners chime in with their experience with this plane? Whats the situation with availability?
Thanks

Ragz,
I don't own one yet but like you i'm considering one myself. I have flown 2 of them and they are just a fantastic airplane. There availability all depends on if you want them to do a custom color scheme or if you want one of there standard color schemes. The best thing to do is to get in touch with Dustin Buescher at BVM and he will take care of you. I have 10 friends that have them and they all rave about them.

Anurag, why not just pick up a JetLegend F16 and install the radio yourself? Same plane? I don't get the hype around this model when half the people who bought it probably wouldn't buy a JetLegend F-16.

have the new PNP BVM F16 - very light weight, great flyer - very docile. presents very well in the air and on the ground and no "hump" in the intake for the nose gear. yes, you could buy direct from JL however, be advised that the BVM version does have a number of design improvements to further strengthen the airframe.

Because you can't buy one anymore. Apparently BVM has exclusivity on the Jet Legend F16 now. I'm not willing to shell out the cost for the BVM brand (don't get me wrong quality and service is amazing!) I Spoke to global jet club about ordering the JL F16 and they informed me that I have to go thru BVM and they are not authorized to sell the model anymore....

When was this? It had been stated earlier that GJC would still sell the F16 in the states.

Sam, i forgot to call Anthony or Steve to ask, so if you would,....
-what size batteries did you put in for the radio and ECU? did you pick them because of size or some other reason?
Dustin said 1500mah, I read in the article by Sean McHale he used 1900's. i was thinking about 2000 or even 4000 Spektrum square packs, and 4000 Mah 2 cell Lipo on the ECU
my plane ships next week!

I've been really happy with mine, and as great as it is the service, communication and support BVM offers has been even better! I'm not surprised by some of the comments on here, to be honest I too was skeptical when I saw the first cost. Now I understand the true value in the product and support behind it. I have not regretted my decision at all. As Joe mentioned (and btw, congrats joe on your new addition!) I even did a review which appears in the current issue of RCJI. If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me, but for the most accurate information don't hesitate to contact BVM.

Sean--i sent you a PM i think a day ago---it would be great to hear what you did wrt batts.
Sam, just sent an email to Anthony and Steve
RCFlyerCT, what size batts did you use and were you size/CG restricted on choices?
Greg--get one! we can do formation at Winamac!
i may even be able to land this better than the KingCat.......

i used a pair of 2s lipos, 1900mah for the RX. I have the same in another model so it was simple to standardize. I have them on the tray where the smoke pump was (see photo). I also have the 3s liFe 3800mah ECU pack under that fwd tray up against the nose bulkhead. Lastly I have a 2s liFe 2000mah pack next to the ECU pack for the AB ring. Perfect CG with nothing in the nose, which is nice to remove it for storage and transport. My tail may be a little heavier or nose layup a little lighter than Sams as his packs are a little farther back than mine, under the pilot. Either way it's very easy to achieve proper CG without adding weight.

The bvm plug an play F 16 is exactly the same airframe as the jet legend F16 ,made in the same factory by the same people,,the only difference is the price! Everybody knows it and if anyone doubts that I am perfectly willing to show anyone the letter from Jet legend stating the fact that they will no longer supply the American dealers with the F16 because Bob Violett had purchased the exclusive rights to sell that model in the United States and thus he is able to charge twice the price that I had sold the same airplane for to my customers here in Florida and South America .He didn't do it for you the modeler , he did it to line his own pockets with a well tried well proven airframe. And if you think that's sour grapes , your damn right it is !!!
