RE: Mig 21 Maiden
Well it finally flew.....and what a flight! I was worried about this one as it has a small wing and weighs 31# but perfect..no trim no nothing but rock solid. Thanks to the AZ guys(Vince and Jim) for their great help in getting this thing set up, their input allowed for this uneventful test flight. I am going to make a minor adjustment on the ailerons before the next flight, I would like them to be just a little more responsive. As you can see the paint job is very visible and I had no problems with orientation. The JC Eagle ran perfectly (as usual) and the EV5 gear sequencer valve was great. I only got one flight as the UAT was loose after landing. 105 degree heat could have contributed to it coming loose as it is silicone glued to the top of the dorsal spine. As I have said before there is little room for anything in this jet and your planning your component arrangement is critical. If any more of you closet Mig pilots want to come over to the dark side the waters fine! Now....off to the next project. I am going to build a static display Yellow F-22 for the Univ of Texas AFROTC. Since the Raptor is high on my list for my next jet this will allow me to give the kit a good inspection before I decide... of course the new JL F-4 sure looks good too! Oh yeah, thanks to Bob Covish and Bob Rogers for the great pix and Joe Patrick for spotting for the test flight.

RE: Mig 21 Maiden
Tom put another good flight on the MIG with a landing on the numbers. Also, Rob Puetz maidened his Hawk - good job in less than ideal conditions for a first flight.
Joe, the Orange Thing is a scratch build very loosely based on the Bell X-2. A few more pics here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8629208

Danno, when the pilot heard I was putting a Rhino in it, he bailed! Awesome engine /airframe combo!
Congrats Tom on the maiden! The Mig in that color scheme is easy to see and looked locked in. Thanks to Bob and BobO for the camera work. Wished I could been there yesterday for Rob's Hawk maiden.

Bob's Bobinator (I call it the Fireball) flies as nice as it looks! [8D] Congrats to Tom, for a successful test flight! Tom, how does the ventral fin look? Is it gonna get scraped up a bunch on landings? [sm=confused.gif]
Pic of Bob's plane in Houston - that month the model was called The Bobsicle... [8D]
