I'm out near Harrison, from what i've heard Deer Lake in Burnaby has a large club. I just have 6 lakes and 4 clean sloughs to run all within 20 minutes. Now all I need is to actually finish one of my boats and ill be happy.

hey, I'm from vancouver too. I've been sending parts back to Asia for my cousin who is pretty hardcore into gas boats. I'm here right now and he's got me hooked.
we should take a look to see if Burnaby Lake would let us run there.

I live in Vancouver and run a 55 Shockwave. I have gone to Pitt Lake several times, Fraser River off of Dease Island tunnel and I go up to Woods Lake in Oyama but that is a long drive. Do not try Burnaby Lake because you will be fined being that it is a bird sanctuary. You can find pics of my boat under billthercman in this website.
You will enjoy running a gas powered boat over a nitro. I have owned both.
Happy RCing

I'm in Richmond been running at the Dea's Slough park - not allowed to operate from the park or dock, park rules, public water though so if you stand in the water they can't do nothing. Had the park guy with a problem all in my face once, checked up on it and its the rule but very rude about it. Have run on the north side of the park at Ocean Concrete only because buddy works there, its great. At the end of No2 Road at public dock - too many fisherman and debris in the water. No matter where you go in the lower mainland people will like it or hate it and get in your face about it. Plus you need to do it safely, that's number 1. So I found these guys out in Chilliwack and it is the best, private lake, sandy beach and great people. I am very much involved there now and will spend all Sunday there when I go. Membership comes with perks too.

PM me for instructions on how to get there if interested. You get three visits to run your boat, after that you will need to join, obtain coverage through NAMBA and follow the safety rules.

Did I mention it was private?
