Default Hybrid aileron servos???

Am I better off with 2 of JR's new 125 oz. torque servos per wing, or just one of JR's 8611A's? I'm running 6 volts so the 2 should put out about 300 ounces, but the two servo set-up will be 6 or 7 ounces heavier. I guess I'm wondering if the ailerons are stiff enough for one 8611A servo.

I was told its best to use 2 per side but I was also told the ailerons are stiff enough if you go with one strong servo. I am going with the 5995. It saves a lot of weight and the hassel of matching the servos.

Default RE: Hybrid aileron servos???

Just finished my Hybrid about two month's agoI'm using 2per side futaba 3050 about 92 in. oz ea. at 6volts don't worry about the weight of 2 servo's I have a da-50 in mine and it fly's just awsome, hover all day long and shoot out of a hover when you are done. I have a Futaba 5050 on the rudder, and 2 ea. Hitec 5945's on the elevator's 2400mAh li ionfor motor And a 4800 for the radio all regulated. TomBob[sm=biggrin.gif]

I recommend 200 oz minimum per aileron. So when i designed the Hybrid most servos in the mid grade range put out about 120-130 oz. Now some of the m onster servos put out well over 200 or even 300 oz of torque! Bottomline is use either one or two per side. The ailerons are stiff enough for one so you have your choice.

Thanks Mike,
Last night I decided to go with one JR 8611A per wing and one on the rudder. I should be in good shape.

Mike,
I like the idea of putting one 8611 on each aileron. Were would you recommend mounting the servo. Inboard, outboard mount or centered between the two?

Thanks, Jim

Most definately inboard bay. fatter part of the aileron plus shorter extensions needed. Or if you have not built the servo bay yet just build a single servo by in the middle versus the two separate ones. That has been a common practice as well.
