1/4 scale warbird/electric
I've been working up a plan for a 1/4 scale p-39. This gives a wingspan of about 102 inches. As I don't want engine cylinders sticking out of the airframe I will try electric.
For power I'm considering the Turnigy 80-100-A 180Kv. Any other suggestions?
As as this plane will be electric I'm assuming the airframe can be made lighter... less beef... since there would be no gas engine. Is this correct?
This project would be about a year away so i can line up retracts, etc. Darrell can be slow on the custom stuff.

For just about anyone, with the exception of the builder that go big and electric, most of us would need some specs on the A/C model to plug into MotoCalc to come up with reliable suggestions!

RE: 1/4 scale warbird/electric
I built a 96" P-39 from an old Bert Baker kit several years ago. Powered it with a 4.2 sachs, but it went down on the 3rd flight due to some sort of radio glich. It's rebuildable, but since I switched to electric, it's been on the back burner. Can't decide if I want to convert it or not. Not sure what power it would need, at close to 30 lbs if I remember correctly. It has a foam wing and glass fuse. My build thread is here if you have interest: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_51..._1/key_/tm.htm
