servo extension body and pins and more info to make you own up. Follow up post
This is a post on a previous bulk servo wire post
the site to go to for one vendors parts is www.MOLEX.COM Amp connectors is another There are other sites also.
Check web site for pictures on the conn/ pins to verify the ones
you want to order. I prefer the latched bodys verses the friction ones. I change the ends of the servos to latched on my planes.
MOLEX part numbers below other sites will have cross references!
latch female body is 70107-002 used for non latched body also
pin 016020114 tin male crimp
pin 016020115 gold male crimp
latch male body is 50-57-9403
pin 16-02-0102 tin female crimp
pin 16-02-0103 gold female crimp
standard non latch male body is 50-57-9003
pin 16-02-0104 gold female crimp
pin 16-02-0102 tin female crimp
these parts are for 22-24 gauge wire
Check out web site and search for parts above and decide witch
ones you want, there are more parts you can pick from.
Once you have parts you want, you can order them on the web.
conn bodies in bags of 10
pins in bags of 100
prices are also listed.
The crimper you need (not mandatory) is molex 11-01-0209
there are other brands also. I bought a crimper to get good
professional crimps. Mine was from amp connectors
I do not have part number handy.
I order my servo wire from the souring specialities site mentioned in other post and the 100ft roll is $26 delivered. George is quick to respond to any emails or inquires. Same or next day shipping. Depending on order time.
I have changed my servos / extensions from a friction to a latched conn body on my big stuff and on any new stuff.
Much better latch no more extensions coming apart.
Just my views / opinions
Hope this helps anyone out there.
Tony

servo extension body and pins and more info to make you own up. Follow up post
I've been buying these connectors and pins at www.Digikey.com
They are called Molex C-Grid SL .100 Pocket headers. Look up Digikey part#s:
WM2901-ND male body
WM2534-ND female body
WM2554-ND* female connector gold
WM2515-ND male pin gold
*I recommend this version, which has high insertion force and better contact specifically for low pin count. The Molex part N0. is 16-02-1125.
I use these primarily for battery pack connectors. I also occasionally use them as servo lead extensions. I still prefer to splice and solder extra servo wire length instead of using an extension. Regarless of what extension connectors you use, if the extension wire is to be run inside the wing or fuselage where it cannot be inspected regularly, I'd still wrap a section of heat shrink tubing around the connector junction for extra insurance.
I also recommend that you put a drop of medium CA on the wires after you've inserted the pins into the connector body. The small metal tab that holds the pin in the body can in time loosen and allow the pin to be pushed or pull out of the connector body.
Hope this helps.

prices from www.arrow.com cheaper than digikey
you can order parts from www.arrow.com with a credit card and
prices are cheaper than digikey for same exact items. You need to
check if parts are in inventory or wait for them. I have ordered from the molex site www.molex.com and they will give you the vendors and how many parts are in stock updated frequently.
You have the choice of going thru different vendors thru molex.
This way you can pick the vendors that have parts in stock and not wait.
Going thru digikey my order would have been $68 verses $42 thru
molex then to arrow (same part numbers and quanity+shipping).

Are their 3 position connectors compatible with JR and/or Futaba? I don't wish to replace connectors on servos.
Thanks,
Andy

The unlatched Molex C-Grid pin connectors plug right into RX, no problem. I use those all the time. Futaba J connectors have that protruding tab so they don't fit well without cutting off the tab. Otherwise, they are mostly compatible.
Just know that the pin spacing of RC servo leads are 0.10", so as long as you use connectors with the same pin spacing and are thin enough to fit in the RX, they should work fine.

Its amazing how much the connectors are marked up at RC vendors. I just paid 7 bucks for 3 male connectors with pins. Talk about ripoff. I also paid $11.00 for 10 feet of servo wire. Thanks for your post. I think I'll make one large wire and connector purchase that should last me for the next 10 years in this hobby
Thanks a bunch for this posting!

I just stumbled across ServoCity. They have the plugs. Anyone tried these?
