Default suggestions for a kit. see requirements.

I would like to find a kit with the following.

24%-28% size.
Foam wings
aerobatic capabilities (mild)
immediate availability

For example. I think there is a lanier extra that qualifies.

Thanks for your opinions,

Dan

That foam wing requirement might eliminate quite a few choices...any reason why you want that type of wing?

Lanier Laser 200 in the 25% scale. Should cost you about $150 for the kit.

The Laser will fly great. They build light.

But this is a builders kit. The fuselage sides are pretty rough. They are laun doorskin plywood. It could be replaced with regular lite-ply, but then your spending more money.

The plastic cowl and wheelpants arent worth the time to put them together. there are glass parts available-- but then again;; your spending more money to improve the kit.

The good side is that it builds pretty easily. Its a plywood sideed fuselage with formers and stringers to get the shape. And it will only weigh about 9 or 10 pounds when your done.

The Laser has great aerobatic capabilities and the straight leading edge will make it gentle on the landings.

If you buy this kit:

Don't put any servos in the tail. If you do-- then you will wind up putting 2 pounds of lead on the nose to balance it.

Put the servos where they show on the plans and it should balance out pretty close.

A 150 2-stroke will make it totally ballistic. Or a 180 4-stroke.

Make sure you don't forget to install the flying wires. The stab will rip apart without them.

If I was to build another one-- I'd scrap the plastic turtledeck in favor of a foam one or just make some light ply formers and make a built up turtledeck with balsa stringers.

this is an easy one, the CA Models Extra 27%!

i've been doing lots of research for my decision on my next plane and first larger and gas powered plane.

this is going to be my next plane powered by a DA-50R gasser.

you can buy the plane from PlanesPlus.com and RCSuperStore.com

see these threads about building them:
