Every time I try to start my vt80 I get the message starter rpm failure has any one got any ideas

Ensure the ECU battery is charged fully
What RPM is the programmer reading on start up ?

Thank you for the reply the battery is fully charged showing 8.4 v and the the rpm goes up to around 4000 then I get the error message

Try to raise a little the " starter power at ignition" parameter. ( start menu).

I assume that you have rpm reading in the display.

3600 - 4000 on start up is about rite
Cool down is around 6000 rpm's
Can you here the starter disengage when error on screen appears ?
Was the turbine bench run before install ?
Is the starter starting in the correct direction ? I ask this as I was sold a new one that tried to start in the wrong direction

Hi the start does disengage and it goes the right way ,the turbine was fine had two flights and the third it wouldn't start charged the battery and just keep get the same message,it's bin fine for the last 21 hours

Maybe the starter motor is broken, or, by the cold, or oil the rotor doesn´t spin as free as always. Have you tried to raise " starter power at ignition" ? If this doesnt works, maybe the starter is defective

It has the brush starter - correct ?
21 hr on timer ....might be time for service check-up

Hi all just had the turbine in the warm house all and tried to start it and it started first time thanx all think it was to cold for it

Again, raise a little ( 3 to 5 points) the " starter power at ignition" and this will solve your problems in cold days or first starts
