Wanted: Jet plans...dead or alive!
Hello everyone.
I'm new to this forum, and I have a problem. I've been doing piston projects for a bit over 20 years now, P-51's to the B-52, and I'd like to get into the jet-era in a real big way. I'd like to know where I can either downolad or snail mail a set of plans for a jet engine. I've done the usual turbocharger conversion's, but I'm looking for something more traditional and practical in a flight application.
Size isn't a factor. It just means the engine's will have more thrust and the plane will be larger.
Fuel consumption? Who cares!
Nosie? MORE!!
Thrust? LOTS MORE!!!
This will either be a spectacular success, or end in a spectacular failure!
A set of stock plans will work just fine, considering I'll be modifying the **** out of them for more thrust.
Remember: Build the plane around your engine. Not the engine around your plane. If I end up with an F/A-18 Hornet with a 55 foot wingspan, it better move like a bat outta hell!
If I can obtain the plans, I'll be starting a web site detailing the design and creation of this monster. All persons assisting me with the development and/or the acquisition of the necessary parts, will be given appropriate credit for their efforts.
Sincerely,
Jim
The only difference between intelligence and stupidity is that intelligence has limits. Know where I fit in?

Thanks for the constructive comments! They're greatly appreciated!
For Basimpsn: Gee, you're quick! Thanks!
For Mach 1-RCU: Naw! It's too small. I'M GOIN' HUGE!!!
It's nice to see we all share the same twisted sense of humor.
Cheers, lad's!

Your best bet would be the GTBA: http://www.gtba.co.uk/
Also, since you are in Canada, you may want to hook up with some of the canadian jet guys who build turbines - e.g. "ajcoholic". You can usually find him either on here, or on the jets forum of rccanada
