Which one?
I can't decide which RC to ask for for my birthday. I thought you guys might be able to give some suggestions. Here are the stipulations:
1. Preferably under $160, but can be stretched for something that really appeals to me (doesn't include accessories, just the vehicle itself)
2. Kit or RTR, but I would like a kit If possible
3. Name brand
4. Offroad or onroad, no drifters, always thought SCTs looked cool
5. Any scale larger than 1/24, but the bigger the better!
6. Read my signature below for what I already have, want something a little different

RE: Which one?
you could hone your skills with a tamiya F1 kit. best part is you can run it with NIMH and a brushed motor and still have plenty of power and speed.
you need access to a nice non seal-coated parking lot or street though.

Believe it or not, for that price you should check out either an Exceed Forza or RedCat Tornado S30.
These might not be considered "name brand", however, but you can certainly get parts for it as needed.</p>

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTDR5&P=7 and get the upgrades to make it handle BL with no issues with the left over
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXYHY2&P=ML and buy a body with the cash left (comes with what are almost the mandatory upgrades) if you want on-road
Or if you want more of a challenge
http://www.ofnawarehouse.com/product...oducts_id=1127 $80
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXZAH8&P=ML $23
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXZAJ4&P=Z $13
you will need to drill 3 holes to fit the battery holder rest bolts straight together Total cost $116 + shipping
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ront-C-Hub-Set $27
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ng-Knuckle-Set $27
$54 in extra parts to make it able to take a royal beating
Might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere I know I did but forgot where I got them from (think someplace on ebay)
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ring-Bellcrank
This last one is handy but not one of those parts you would break often (broke once on my original CRT.5 which took some extremely bad hits)
As for powering it a simple EZ-run can make it fly
Also parts should be available for a long time seeing it shares 98% or so of the parts with the SCRT10

If you can stretch your budget to one of these... [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_1785/products_id/160611/n/OFNA-Jammin-SCRT-10-1-10-Scale-4WD-Electric-Short-Course-Truck-Rolling-Chassis]Jammin SCRT-10[/link] you won't regret it, stupendous car, here are a couple of pics of mine...
Or...
OFNA Jammin CRT .5 convert to BL. Dunno if you'll find one new though these days. Failing that any of the 'half-8's, like the mini inferno or the losi one.
If budget is absolutely strict, I recently built one of these and was highly impressed with it... [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_109/products_id/106766/n/HPI-Cup-Racer-1M-Kit-w-Datsun-240Z-Body]HPI Cup Racer[/link]
