Then you've got your Radical RC Edge 540...It will 3D in your front yard, or hover in your house. This is one of the few tiny electrics with unlimited vertical (at least it was a couple months ago!!!) that will do all the 3D moves, including harriers. It does great flat spins, knife edge, snap rolls, and all that other good stuff...
I highly recommend it...I really miss mine...

The wattage planes are great flyers when set up correct. I have teh Wattage Extra with an geared Astro 020, 11x7 prop and now Li Polys. It goes vertical and very arebatics. They dont fly that well stock though.
But I like the RRC Edge the best like mentioned. It is fully 3D even with the stock motor. I have a Hacker B20-22S geared in mine with etecs and it hovers no problem and will accerate right out of it.

The Sukhoi is loads of fun. See the "$600 Profile" thread that termagator started. I'm not sure where you would get the kits anymore, but knockoff plans are floating around on the net.
Also check out the Hicks Tribute (hovertoys.com) I got the opportunity to fly one last weekend, it was a hoot. Made of blucor fanfold foam and CF.
Todd Long is also coming out with one called the "Attitude". It's conventional balsa and covering. It's also on my "gotta git" list. (toddsmodels.com)
Be prepared for the $ involved in the batteries, chargers, and power systems. The planes themselves don't cost all that much.

I remember seeing some videos of that Sukhoi a while back...It is definitely impressive! $600 is a lot of money though...
The RRC will be less than half of that and I bet performance is about the same or better. It doesn't look as good though, that's for sure...Much smaller too.

Mine only cost $550
Look at it this way, the Hacker motor and ESC is going to outlast the model and probably many more. Your subsequent e-flyers will cost a lot less....

Electrics for Acro
From what I've seen, you can do any acro plane electric. Steve Rojecki, who won the TOC back in the late 80s and is now the CD, does electric testing for Horizon. He has had an Ultra Stick 60 elec that will hover and has unlimited vertical.
Recently he brought out his new plane to be used to tow sailplanes at some big meet. It is the Hangar 9 Super Cub, all 100+ inches span with 2 Hackers geared together and 2 Li-Poly packs and a 24-12 prop. He could hover the darn thing!!!. Vertical like a fun fly. We were all standing around open mouthed. It would take a big gas engine to hover that big sucker.
His equipment isn't cheap, Hacker and Li-Poly, but it does give performance. Any plane you want.

It just goes to show you that with enough money and time, you can do anything you want.
Personally, this is problem I have will most of the good performing 3D electrics, you have as much or typically more money invested in an electric 3D Fun Fly aircraft that can be used in limited applications / times / places over a typical glow version Fun Fly. There are a couple of promising aircraft out there that may be full 3D aerobactic, though still yet to be seen. I recently ordered a mini Gee Bee. I know it won't be fully acrobatic, though I believe allot of fun anyways. That Nemesis shows allot of promise. I just may have to order one of those to check it out.
My 2 cents (its up to you to judge if you got your money's worth <LOL>)

If you wan to get great performance you may need to spend some more bucks. You get what you pay for. I fly a 3d heaven with is an inspired verision of the sukhoi and it is sold here in the USA in ARC version. I have to say its more money but worth it.
Check it out at www.rc3dheaven.com
The question you have to ask your self is do you want 2d or real 3d?

th 3d heaven is a must have. It is an ARC with a motor mount and hardware and is covered with So-Light. Not very strong, but light nonetheless. It uses a Hacker B20 12L with 4:1 gearbox. The plane is $100 and the motor is 139.00 with gearbox. It does everything in the book. Maybe not TOC style but it can hover at 1/2 throttle.
You can see the movie at http://www.rc3dheaven.com. Check it out
