Strapping Tape to reinforce ARF wings?
Greetings! - Has anyone had experience with using strapping tape (run spanwise over the spar area) to strengthen ARF wings?
It is very thin and STRONG and could add strength much the same way that building carbon fiber into the spar would. I am wondering if it is fuelproof enough and if it would cause unwanted turbulence. (which might be a "good" thing....)

I have done this many times. Run it tip to tip with no breaks. Works well. Haven't done it where fuel will get to it though. Don't know what that will do. Might test a small piece somewhere. It gives a heck of a lot of streanth to the wing. Always do it on my 135 inch gliders and I can bend the heck out of them on launch. Never have broken one yet.

Strapping Tape
Thanks for the replies guys! Say, I have noticed that strapping tape comes in two widths. The "normal" width looks to be about 3/4 " wide and the wide width about 1 1/2. Has anyone used the wide tape? It might not comform to curves very well....

I have used strapping tape on my Zagi.
The only downfall is that the tape may let loose.
I don't know if it would stand-up to fuel.
It is strong but not that light.
Pick up a roll, it is heavy.
