2-speed problems with clutch shoe
Hello!
I have an taipan xrs pro and one rapida, both two-speed. and both have the same problem:
When it has shifted into second gear 2-4 times, then it stops , i thought at first it saw the screw that needed some adjustment but i now found out what it was: when the clutch shoe holder has engaged to second gear a few times( in second gear) it presses the aluminium so that the clutch bead cannot come up any more to press the clutch shoe holder down and the result is either no shifting or always in second gear.
It probably should have been in a harder material like steel.
I hope you understand what i mean. and my question is, any one else have had this error? and does it exist some upgrade option part? or can it be fixed in an easy way?
//Best regards snabben

There is no upgrade option. Most companies use an aluminum housing, you could try a traxxas or HPI shifter, there pretty much the same though.

make sure the small metal pin is in the second gear spur, sometimes if its missing or falls out, the arm from the 2 speed shifter can hit it a few times and it wears it down and it has nothing to grab to anymore. I found this out and took a piece of a body clip and glued it in the spur.

Yes the metal spur is there. The problem is that it deformes so that the clutch bead cannot come up and press it back. it get as loos as if it wasnt any spring/clutch bead there.
Will prolly order an singlespeed some day =/
