my carb moves freely while not on the truck, but when i put it on the truck it won't move a bit. and that is even pushing and pulling it out with my finger. any ideas why?

You need to give more details or take a pic. But something is not right. If you can move your carb by hand then something is wrong.

if i were to open the carb up wot it stays in the same position when you let off the throttle. i have to open it with a finger if i don't it bends the throttle linkage rod. when it is off of the truck and i open it wot it shuts up back to closed. i've taken it apart twice and added a little grease to the slide works great off the truck put it back on and it sticks shut or open. just doesn't like to move

When you put the carb back on the truck you will have to turn it a little at a time in which ever direction until it stops binding the throttle linkage. then when it moves freely tighten your pinch bolt and all should be good.
