Use fuel dots. I keep hearing bad things about all of those other fuelers leeking air. The fuel dots are simple. Just make sure that you use two different colors of fuel tubing so you know that you're pulling the ven and not the fuel. My UCD has the orange as the vent and purple as the fuel. This way you won't get squirted when you pull one of the off hehe. I've been thinking hard about a funtana with a YS63. Please shoot me a PM when you get yours finished and let me know how you like it. Is there enough room around the CG to mount the tank on the CG???

I use two fuel dots on my Funtana both mounted on the right side of the cowl if looking at it from the back. It's the most simple way to fuel the plane. Now on my DP Edge 540 I have a YS 140DZ and I use a dubro fuel filler valve, but since the DZ is not a pressure system that's the best way. On all the other YS motors you have to release the pressure before fueling.
Hope that helps,

Hi,
I'm wondering why can't you use a quick refueler on a YS motor?
This will help me a bunch as I'm about to run the plumbing for my YS 110.
Thanks

You can use a quick fueler, just have to have a dot setup on the pressure side to release the pressure in the tank before you fuel. After flying you get 4-6 psi in the tank that has to be released before you fuel.

Thanks fellas...that was so simple. The fuel dots suggestions was just what I was looking for.
Hey trailingedge...I flew the Funtana most of the summer without the cowl and as everyone else I've talked to just loved it. Not sure but I thinking maybe a 91 or 100 engine might be a better match for it tho'. Power to weight ratio is ok with the 63, but not the best in my opinion. Good luck to all and thanks again.

Everyone,
Thanks for the information. I've installed the quick refueler and the dot on the pressure relief side. I think I'll but another dot and get rid of the quick fueler.
Regards,
Scooterpilot

TE, most likely you won't need to worry about moving the tank back, cause this plane has a tendency to build tail heavy. If your like me you will trying to find a way to get the tank forward. Just my thoughts.
