Hello. I recently got a Kyosho Sandmaster ST working good. But one of the things that needed replacing was a set of burnt up clutch shoes. Right now the friction brake is set to prevent the wheels from spinning when the engine is at the lowest possible throttle. Is this okay? I have almost no nitro experience and I don't want to have to replace brand new clutch shoes because of my own ignorance.

Also: it is cold up here in Cleveland, and I was wondering if the mid-20s temperatures affect glow engine performance? I'm using the stock Kyosho GT .10 (I think) engine. I notice that even though the engine is hot, it will stall more often than it did in the warmer temps. I have the needle adjustment thing set at 3 turns loose from full tightness; and I'm using Traxxas "Top Fuel" I got at my lhs that the owner said is pretty standard.

as long as you get up in the 200 degree range when the engine is running you should be fine. if you need to you can wrap tin foil around the head to hold in heat.
