How much do mufflers weigh??

How much do mufflers weigh??
Hi I just had a custom wrap around pitts muffler built for my Brison 3.2 It weighs 13 oz. Is this average or is this heavier than average for this type muffler. Thanks for info.

I have a J&A peacekeeper (wrap around pits), and it weights ~12 OZ. The B&B smoke muffler is about 5 OZ and the ABellRC muffler is 6OZ for the same 4.2 engine. The last two require less material because they are "stack" type mufflers.

I have a Bisson (BCM) Pitts muffler on my Brison 3.2. It can't weigh any more than 6 oz. or so. 13oz is is heavy for a muffler!

I think you are in the ball park with a Pitts style muffler.
A stock side mount muffler from DA for my DA-50, with bolts and gasket weigh's 148 gr --(5.22 oz)
Pitts style are always much heavier. If I recall the pitts for my engine would have been a bit over 12 oz.
