I bet that works, and seems like the only credible place making those if not the only one period. If I had the extra money I'd get one and tell everybody wether or not its worth a damn.I'd love to play around with one of those.

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
im sure it would mot make a diff all the do is lean ur engine out because the intake port and the exhaust port are open at the same time effectively all it would do is blow the fuel out of your engine im playing with pure oxygen at the moment not sure if it will work but theoretically it would but if you want one for looks go for it[8D]

naw if it did work it would only improve bottom end and i think you wouldnt see a difference unless someone has it and sees it improve

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
Yeah , I dont really want a turbo or anything, I just want to bore out the engine and get one of those Intercooler like things, the ones that are accually functional, Now those things are bad as heck and i dont know anyoen that can say anything else different about them...
Do people make them themselves? or is there a place to buy one? I would appreciate a link if anyone has one...
Thanks

"Cant, cannot"??? I dont know what these words mean. Not
in my vocabulary.

You cannot turbocharge or supercharge an RC nitro engine with 2 stroke and a carb.

Ok then, let me rephrase that. You cannot super charge or turbo charge a nitro, 2 stroke, carburated engine and get better performance than what it was stock.

So if we had the same car, same engine, same everything but I had a supercharger on my car....and we raced...and you lost, you'd say it was because I'm a better driver and not because of the supercharger?Whatever

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
hmmm. i really dont feel like getting into physics arguments here. so just a simple explanation.
A supercharger works by forcing more air molecules into the combustion chamber, therby increasing the amount of O2 which creates a hotter explosion and more HP. In a std nitro RC engine, by increasing the O2 in the combustion chamber, you will over lean the engine and destroy the engine. To compensate for this, you have to richen the mixture, which causes teh car to bog down, and stall at idle. The amount of rich fuel/air mixture needed to prevent pre detonation will reduce power output more than or equal to the amount of added benifit the SC will increase. A turbo charger wont work at all.

No argument is needed,I know how it works.I'm not saying it will be a huge difference, but it WILL be a difference in added horsepower. The amount of extra air forced into the engine is directly relative to the rpm's and so is the pressure from the pipe to the tank so it will force more fuel in at the same time.

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
Galaxy, you nailed it. as rpm goes up, so will the extra air produced by the SC which will over lean the engine and blow the engine. To prevent this from happening, you will need to set the engine VERY rich which in turn will rob more horsepower than the SC is giving you.
IE:
NA Engine = 1.2hp at perfect needle settings.
NA Engine = .8hp at needle settings rich enough to accomodate the SC.
SC Engine = 1.0hp at needle settings to accomodate the SC.
So as you see, the SC does increase HP figures, however, they are less than the NA number since you have to richen the mill up so much. Got it?

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
i thought that a super charger wont work cause that since the air intake port and the exaust port is open at the same time the air would juss rush right through and not add air into the cylinder

haha, where did you get those #'s?
other than the answer to that...save your fingers, you're not gonna convince me that it won't work. The only way I'll believe it doesn't work is to get one and see for myself.
I think you're just scared to racelol

RE: SUPER CHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER??????
galaxy, with over 60 trophies sitting on my mantle, i am hardly scared to race. I do however have over 15 years of rc racing experience, over 10 years of full size mechanical experience, and over 4 years of being ASE certified to work on SAAB and Subaru, and VW, all of which utilize turbo's and supercharger's to power some of their engines. The numbers above were just a fictious example. If you truely want to know how an RC engine works, PM me and i will explain it in detail.

You just can't convince some people that the world is round, either! I think he should just go get a SC and/or a TC and prove all of us wrong. You know that the R&D guys at the engine manufacturers don't know what they're doing! A little sarcasm goes a long way....

SAAB and Subaru. Dude.. you hang with a fast crowd. I think
you should invent a horsepower calculator based on your
scientific findings. It could be called the "assuminator". Or
maybe the great "Guesstimator". How bout' the
"headupmybutt-inator"? I had dreams of a twin turbo
nitro .26..... but at only half a horse it has all been
shattered. Back to the drawing board....

Why do some people argue of even diss Nitroaddict? He seems to know A lOT and he's the moderator too so I would be careful.
