Brian....I have the 08 ceramic piston version on my rxb....I had the 2004 version also....I'm running the dynamite midrange pipe....I will say this is a good engine...I can run down the straight with almost any buggy on the track....one part I hope sh dealt with is low end...although I have much better low end with the aluim shoes, I still dont have the snap that most the other buggies have at the track...
I'm debating on whether or not I will buy another...you can buy a go engine for the same $$$ if you want a 5 port..or add a few $$ and get the 7 port....one thing I think I prefer with that is the go engines have 2 needle carbs not 3 like the sh....unless your really good at tuning (which I am not) the 3 needle is just another air leak possability and another screw to get out of adjustment....I've seen a 5 port go on a buggy and its really snappy.....

I am not a Fan of 3 needle Carbs either......
Everyone always says to Leave the Mid Range screw alone......So Whats the use of even Having it?
Having SAID that,,,,,I DO think S.H. engines are well worth the $$ in most cases.

RE: good deal for a buggy
anybody have ideas of good dealers for Go engines? do I get the consensus that Go and SH both have good race quality engines for $200 or less?

I think the go engine would be better...but I havent ran one the higher end engines...I've just ran the 3 port sports.....
usually there is go engines on fleabay.....I'm trying to get himoto to get us some of the higher end go engines to miami.....with their buying power we may get a better deal...even if not I would rather buy from Eddie at a competative price....also go has some newer models coming out that are spose to be even better....so I guess all that would like to see himoto offer these engines, and that would actually purchase them should let it be known....I myself am hoping to buy a 7 port (would really like to have 2 for next season) and a 5 port....maybe if they seen enuff intrest from true blue buyers they would offer....

Hopefully the Higher end GO engines will come with swappable Venturis,,,,cuz my Local track is starting to run 20 min A-Mains.
Good,,,,tunable Mileage is going to get Important to me very soon.
