oh ok, cause i'm thinking about getting a quad and keeping the stock pipe on, and if the can stand my buggy and a truck together without a problem, then they should be able to stand a quad.

yes definetly keep the stock exhoust ,and since you are from nj almost all the places in tristate got really strict with it ,i drove hrs to ride at some places and got turned away just couse of my exhoust ,but i kept my stock exhoust and use it if i go riding local and some of the riding tracks and trails in our area ,unless i enter some scrambles or go by private property i own upstate then i throw on the aftermarket.
good luck with your quad and have a blast[8D]

in Car and Driver they test the DBs of the cars at full throttle and they are around 78 dbs so I think a full throttle nitro truck will be around 90.

ok, that will depend. think of it this way, the average persons voice is about 87-89 db up to mid 90s. a chain saw runs about 110-115 db. a standard car radio at full volume is about 118db. of course this differs by whos measuring, how they are measureing and what they are using and how its calibrated. in the pro audio world, its a fairly common standard that db levels are taken at 1 meter. this way there is a standard to apply setup plots for PA systems. i have a HB 26 lightning BB with the Ofna tuned pipe. i woud guestimate that at wot at near top rmps it was produceing near 108db. it was as loud as any stock 4way auto system and probably a bit louder.

I would imagine that they are a few dB quiter than a 2 stroke chainsaw. When I used to do car stereo contests they would take 2 measurements, one in the driver seat and one 1m away like Timmahh says.
