Default .21 in a 1/10 buggy

is it possible to put a big block in a 1/10 buggy? My buggy has an adjustable engine mount and i think it can widen to fit a bigblock.

depends on the model, and how much room you have
I know people slapped K5.9's in MT2's before which were made only to take .18s

Now will its drive chain, and diffs withstand the added power is another thing

haha i think i have the room and the drive shafts should be alright. the only problem im having is that the engine i have has a standard shaft while all the other engines have a different kind of shaft. do i just get a different clutch or flywheel?

you can just flip the carburetor around if the throttle linkage is not on the right side right?

yeah, getting rid of a two speed is a good idea if your going to put a .21 heart in there.

it probly can be done, especially if its 2WD. you will most likely need a new manifold and pipe. you will need a new bell, flywheel, and clutch.

its going to be expensive, but if your into the hobby, you could always transplant that .21 into a 1/8 down the road.

go cheap with the engine, pick up a force .28, these are stock in old ofnas and fit a .21 mount, or get a cheap Go engine. both are simple and reliable.

i have a .28 i want to slap in a home made carbon car that is only 9.5 inches long, but that is for another day

i like Ofna because they have the right mount im looking for but im having trouble finding the stuff you mentioned for it. I dont know what fits. Im semi-new to the whole process

That picco is quite the powerhouse and you may wind up breaking parts. It's reputedly a very good engine and is used in monster trucks with success.

The OFNA Force 28 is a decent low-end engine, but is still a bit pricey at Tower Hobbies at $149, but they are so common, you can probably get a new, never-used one from e-bay for a lot less.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTUL9&P=7

I've heard the GO 28 can be bought for as little as $65 from Riverhobby, but I they don't list teh prices on the webpage. You have to download the catalog which I never did.

http://www.riverhobby.com/en/productshow.asp?id=195

Amain sells the GO engine for $129 and can be found here:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...ies-23-Engines

If money isn't an object, you might want to consider an 1/8th kit. I suspect the kit will come with the clutch parts and you can use them on your 1/10th project for now, and build up the kit at your leisure.

Or you can buy all the clutch parts seperately, but you'll need a flywheel, cltuch shoes, collet, flywheel nut, bolt and maybe some other parts I forgot. You can easily download a manual for a 1/8th buggy and check the exploded view of the clutch parts to make a list. The OFNA site has manuals that can be downloaded, and I think their parts are fairly inexpensive too.

there is no way a Picco 28 BB will fit into a smallblock engine mount....the mount will not be long enough...tho you may be able to tap and thread new holes for the screws...the mount will also not be tall enough...you will have to likely machine your chassis to fit a true Big Block mount....

here is my BB conversion of a 1/10th scale

Yup...and that's a pretty neat way of placing a watermark.....not just a "logo"....it actually fits in the pic..[8D]

Anyone is more than welcome to make/place a watermark on any of their original pics....

Supertib...well done making that fit bro.

Quick question though....you don't use break pad springs??

I just found all that advertising for your company....your logo in every pic.....amusing. Now that I know you were only protecting your pics from being stolen, I can see why you didn't take my post with the humour intended.

Are you going to add that watermark to the pics on your website too? It's a good logo.

I am not sure sure how fast it goes... only ran it in the rough dirt so its hard to top it out...if I were to take an educated guess I would say capable of 55-60 MPH... with the power/weight I could also pull more gearing and go even faster.... I also have more powerful .21's that could pull even more gear,RPM and ultimately more MPH then this engine
