Goofy problem with t-maxx
me and my buddy were driving our maxx's around today and showin' off a little bit to the people in the park...we each went and started driving in a sand volleyball court and after we got out of it he drove his truck for about 40 ft and then it wouldn't go anymore...kinda like the spur gear stripped, but it didn't. we took the body off and the spur looked fine and everything else looked fine. When I spun the spur though it would spin freely and not turn anything inside the transmission, the wheels wouldn't show even the slightest movement...anyways, he dusted the truck off and shook it off a little bit and he started it up and it took off with no prob...at first I thought that maybe his second gear got stripped and it wouldn't disengage from it but he took off and it hit second real nice and downshifted, there were no noises or anything grinding and after that everything spun like it should've...anyone got any clue why that might've happened?

I can spin my spur gear by hand all day long and nothing will happen. The output gear in the trans has a sort of clutch that only engages at a high enough rpm. Maybe he had some sand in his clutch bell.
