I never owned one my self,But from what i heard"and my opinion" if your buying it to race at a track would be a fine choice. But if your just getting it to mess around and bash with Go with a regualr Tmaxx, savage,LST,Something of that nature.
Revo seems to me to be strictly for racing? But like I said just my opinion

Yeah alot of people have said they are only for racing, yet heaps have said that with a few mods they are fairly good bashers. But ill be using for mucking around and bashing.

thats nonsence. the revos are built like a brick shi$t house. they are great for racing and great for bashing. they are so adjustable that you can do both. its amazing and the suspension is like wow. you should google revo videos and watch some crazy videos of revos doing backflips off of like 60 foot jumps and stuff. the traxxas site has some cool videos too.

I have both LST and REVO. REVO is lighter and suffer less damage with the same crash as the LST. LST has more power, heavier, drink more gas and more fun. My REVO is totally stock and has no plan to upgrade anything. I don't race, just bash around and do jumps. The down time for my REVO is way less than my LST, it might because I run the LST more since I got it. You will need a roll bar if you get the LST2. My REVO has been very reliable. I won't recommend MAXX though. I had one and the shocks keeping breaking even with aftermarket upgrades. Both REVO and LST2 are good choices.

I recently bought my Revo and I was also considering the Savage when I was looking to buy. One reason I went for the Revo was the chassis design with the in-board shocks. They are pretty well protected and look very neat. I also wanted a reverse gear, which was another major factor as on the Savage it's an optional extra!

Dont listen to the people that say its only for racing.
The Revo is good for anything, and I mean anything. Beat the living hell out of it, and it will come back asking for mroe!

LMAO! Whoever says it's only for racing apperantley has had a bad experience with one. Before I put a rollcage on my Revo, I beat it to hell in stock trim, BONE STOCK. Bashed it one half of the day, then later on took it out for a regular spin with no problems. The truck is simply excellent IMO.

I'm going to post this again so you can see it. I find this vid helpful with these types of questions. Through out this entire video was 6 weeks worth of video. So much of it was bloopers and jumps gone wrong that they had to be taken out of the cut. You will see my Revo in here. It is bone stock. Every jump it drove away from. Through out the entire recording I broke an A arm, 2 shock shafts, and broke a few teeth off the rear diff. Last fall we taped some fotage for our next vid. I did about 16 jumps in a row before it could no longer run. This truck is rock solid. Here's the vid...

RE: Noob wants to know about revo
I just bought a Revo this weekend after much researching other makes and models. I was even approached by 2 random customers in the hobby shop while I was drooling over the Revo on Friday night when I saw it in person for the first time. Both people were boasting how awesome and indestructable the Revo is. After buying it and having some fun, I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with every aspect of my Revo after a day of breakin and 2 days of off-road bashing. The ONLY complaint I have is the limited receiver/servo battery life. I followed the instructions to the letter, but I can only squeeze about 2 and 1/2 tanks out of it before it dies. I haven't heard any other complaints anywhere that I've looked... so I'm starting to thing that maybe I got a dud battery pack... no matter, that's an EASY fix.
And I do agree with the others here, whoever said it was just for racing is completely incorrect. I certainly wouldn't do any >street< racing with it, it's very squirrely on pavement, as I've flipped it more on flat pavement then jumping it or doing serious off-roading. But get this bad--boy on dirt, grass, gravel, hills, embankments or anycombination of the above and it handles like a dream!
So in conclusion, the Revo was $475 bucks VERY well spent!
