May we see an example of this vehicle so we can see what you're referring to?

Otherwise, whatever you do is fine by me.

Looks to me that it, obviously, needs an engine and exhaust system. It probably also needs motor mounts, flywheel and clutch. Shouldn't be hard to get running, but an engine can run from 90 to 250 bucks depending on what size and the quality.

Give it to electricrc68 so he can douse it in nitro and set it on fire.

Or he can give you his fuel so you can douse it in nitro and set it on fire.

It's a HiSpeed Model manufactured buggy, not particularly good, but if you can score a decent used engine for cheap (OS .15CV-X, or the Dynamite Mach 12 pullstart is under 100 bucks new.) and get some help tuning, you can snag an HPI header for the RS4-3 and an Associated pipe, and have the car running better than that car would be if it was new for about 150-175 total.

awesome, but what is an HPIheader? or an RS4-3? im guessing the associated pipe is the muffler.

HPI is a manufacturer, RS4-3 is the model that they make, the header is the part that bolts to the engine to direct exhaust into the exhaust pipe (the Associated (brand) pipe)

I assume, TBJ, that by Associated pipe you mean the stock pipe that came with my car, right?

That would work, but ThunderbirdJunkie just means any of Associated's pipes that came with any of their cars. The smoothie that came with the GT2 FT, the torque-tuned dual chamber that came with yours and ThunderbirdJunkie's NTC3's (which sounds WICKED paired with a high-revving side-exhaust 12), really any of them. In this case, the dual chamber torque-tuned NTC3 pipe is probably the way to go.

They sound sweet even with a lazy low-revving .18, and they certainly do boost torque significantly. When I bought one and installed it on my monster truck it made the difference between one that will do gentle takeoffs when you jam the throttle wide open and one that will carve donuts on command

No, you cant use an Associated pipe because the pressure fitting/hole will be on the bottom.

You can get one of these cheap shuwa/toki engines, which are actually pretty reliable when it comes to RTR. http://cgi.ebay.com/Toki-18-Theaded-...item2eb6014596

Then get this http://cgi.ebay.com/Exhaust-Manifold...item2311154a1e

Then this http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-A868-Tuned-P...item3cb7e25691

And these should also work http://cgi.ebay.com/Redcat-Tornado-S...item2eb65a2260

Of course you will still need a clutch, exhaust gasket, silicone coupler, some throttle linkage, and some hardware... but this stuff will take care of the basics.

Oh, well I stand corrected. I have a big box of associated pipes too. I honestly wouldn't spend $30 on a pipe for that car though...

ITBJRC?
