Help Wanted!!!!!!!
to make a long story short, im a quadriplegic which means i cant move below me neck. i really enjoy driving rc cars with my mouth. the only controls i have found that work are the Hitec Neon SS, Focus III ss am, Focus III FM and the Futaba 3FR. these controls dont have the options as the pistol controlers do. is there a way or somebody that could make a single stick that is good as a pistol grip?

RE: Help Wanted!!!!!!!
I also think you will need something custom made for you. I'd be willing to bet one of the major manufacturers would be more than willing to work with you on it.

Over the years I have worked with several special needs people and all the needed changes that have been needed for the radio's are things that we have built and or designed on the spot. It depends on what changes are needed. What needs are you wanting for your radio to make it functinal for you? Thanks Dave

RE: Help Wanted!!!!!!!
I have another idea that may work
There are some aircraft radio's that are avalable on ground frequencies (to use with cars and stuff)
its what alot of the robotics people use, I think that it should have all the features you could ever need
here are some links they are a bit expencive but it is because they are 4 channels +
http://www.robotcombat.com Click on radio's I was going to give links to specific radio's but my computer is having problems
By the way the owner of the store named Jim is a very helpful and nice guy who I bet would be willing to help you out and even modify a controler to suit your needs (converting a radio to ground frequencies etc)

RE: Help Wanted!!!!!!!
Should be able to do it, as long as you can swop axis/channels over- good example is RC flight, and the controller allows to set both X & Y movement.

You'll need someone to set the radio up, and perhaps a buddy box if you get into trouble (so can kill/stop car quickly)

RE: Help Wanted!!!!!!!
A 2 stick radio would offer you 2 movements with either stick. You could put your sterring on the side to side movement of the stick and the throotle on the up and down movement of the stick. Depending on how your brake works, pulling down on the stick would activate the brakes. There are some cheaper radios that would work for this on the Tower Hobbies site. Futaba has a 4 channel 2 stick radio with all the servos and batteries for $125.00. You may want to also check out the market place here on RCU and look for a radio. You would need to make sure that any radio that you buy has a ground freguancy in it. Good Luck, Dave

DesertEagle
I would e-mail jim a the robot marketplace site and ask his oppinion to see what he thinks he would have much more knowledge on the subject and should be able to better help you
