Default Slimline Boxxer pump for gas?

Has anyone used the Slimline Boxxer to pump gas? The instructions say that
it's for glow only, but it's the only electric fuel pump that uses heart pump
technology, instead of direct contact brass noisey gears like all the other
gas pumps. I've used a Boxxer pump on my glow fuel tanks for over three
years and I love the smooth quiet and clean, no-leak operation of it.

I just called Slimline last week with the same question. Since the silicone tubing used is completely NOT compatible with gas, I wanted to know if they make a conversion kit. I got a short NO! It is not compatible, they don't make a conversion and for liability reasons, they don't make any Gas pumps.

Hope this helps,

Bill,
Thanks for your response. I also called Slimline and was told nearly the
same thing you were told.
I might try some Tygon tubing in the Boxxer to see if it works, although
I'm aware that the Tygon may be a little too rigid for the inner rollers to
perform correctly. I am not really worried about an explosion from the
motor head, it would be isolated from any gas fumes.

Any luck with this conversion. My experience is that the tolerances in the pump head are more critical than I had expected. There seems to be a small difference between the motor output shaft spinning the three pump cylinders and just spinning. I wouldn't expect the Tygon to work but I've been wrong before. If you find a solution you'll let us know right?

I am working with the Slimline pump using Aeroworks fuel line that is a bit more softer than Tygon.
Plus I took out the three rollers and scuffed them up on a brass wire wheel. This gave a noticeable
improvement in pumping action. I'm not sure of the long term durability of the fuel line but it's
simple to pull more line through the pump rollers. The weather has been too nasty to fly lately, so
it's not being used much. []
