MVVS ICU-S ignition V 2.0
Dear colleages:
I have 2 MVVS 45. First is aproximatly 6 months old. It runs great and I'm very happy with it. So much, that I have bought other for my new C-Arf Extra 2.12. But this one has a slightly different ICU-S ingnition. It's the V2.0. There is one visible update concerning the posibility of activating or de-activating battery test. That's nice, but I've found a more interesting difference. Without changing anything else, my older engine deliverys 200 rpm more with the new ignition than with the old one. This means something seems to have changed in the ignition curves or who knows what, but the fact is that the engine is more powerful with this new modele.
My question. Does anybody know if it is possible to upload the newest firmware in the old ICU-S? I mean, how to upgrade the 1.5 to 2.0 version?
Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,
Javier

No need to.
The extra power can only originate from slight full rpm timing differences.
If you loosen one of the two bolts that hold down the sensor, you can rotate the sensor slightly to find the best power position. Secure with nail polish.

Thank you, Pe:
I'll try it and see what happen. By the way, this machine is turnning now a Mezjlik 23x10 at 6.300 rpm ... I think this is a good number for a 43 cc.
Regards,
Javier

What muffler system did you use on that engine? These rpm are about 4.5 HP.
the standard 58 turns that same prop at 7400 rpm (more than 7 horsepower) with a MTW RE2 tuned pipe.
