GS storm!!
I have had my Storm for 4 weeks.. the shop kindly offered to run it in for mw.. nice..
But lately on starting it... it idles and then decides to cut out.... fine but on restarting it, it does it again and again...
when started, I go to accelator and the engine cut out.. so i start it again and feed the power in slowly.. and its fine... but i have to keep it reving..... bit of a meer when putting the shell on. Already to go and it cuts out... god dam!!
Can anyone help.. is the idle srew to low or the mixture not richer enough..
or is it just ****ed...
all advise welcome..

If there is plenty of exhaust smoke you probably need to lean the bottom end. The engine is likely stalling due to too much fuel.
To lean the bottom end turn the flat head screw found at the end of the carb throttle assembly (near the blue rubber boot on the stock Storm engine) 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn CLOCKWISE and try it out. Repeat as needed.
With a properly tuned bottom end the engine should rev for 3 seconds when you stop, and then decrease to idle automatically.
Also, temporarily remove the air cleaner and check the throttle opening in the carb. It sould be open exactly 1mm while at idle.
A properly tuned top end will result in a small amount of exhaust smoke throughout the power band. After running, cylinder head temp should be 250 degrees max to prevent toasting your piston/sleve. A good test is to place a drop of water on the cyliinder head. If the water pops then you're too hot/lean. If the water stands you're too cold/rich. If the water sizzles you're just right!
Good luck!
