Default Draganflyer Objective Video

Day & Night Flight Video

This is some footage of my Ti Pro in day and night flights. The dayflight was with a slight headwind so I just dipped the nose into it and let it surf that wave, kind of like a thermal! I just pitched a little forward and it basically maintained its own altitude with only slight adjustments. The night flights are showing the use of the nav lights for orientation. The night flight at the stadium best demonstrates what bright LEDs can do when pointed straight ahead without any obstruction from the frame or motors. Since the night flight lights video I have added the red and green and will be adding four more landing lights.

While the weather keeps me from flying, I've been trying to refine my video processing techniques. Here's the latest, my flash viewer. http://www.slcity.com/df

Here's to waiting for the snow to clear...

Scott:

Your camera work is very nice! Are you using the standard Eyecam Extreme Rig from rctoys.com in your videos and using a video editor stabilizer?

Im also using a prototype for the new df eyecam. I also use 2d3 as my stabilization software. I have adobe prem pro and it comes with the 2d3 plug in.

I suppose even with the new camera rig there is no avoiding washing the video with a software based image stabilizer? No big deal I guess..........Thanks for the info!

Not necessarily. It really depends on how critical absolute stability is for your specific needs. Did you see the footage from the flight at the link below before it was processed? You can get some really stable video without processing as long as there is very little wind. There may be an occassional bounce due to when you change positions but on calm days and nights I've gotten some really smooth shots with no processing.

Here is another video that shows the DF in flight. He made his own custom camera mount.

SKY HIGH

you placed a movie here I think it was the savs close up (ran for approx 6 mins around built up area)
I was amazed how steady the df was in flight, but what was suprising was the way the savs camera mount (golf ball bit??) was continualy moving back and forth and up and down, I can see that it is meant to with in the ring on the frame bracing, but it semmed that the shots would have been better on a fixed frame???

I dont mean to say you are wrong, for i have no idea, as my df is still in transit, but as a thought could low density foam be placed in that ring on the frame to stop some of the unnecesary bounce?

Just a thought, what do you rekon

cre8web, check out [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=4140876]this video[/link]. It has a split screen demo of a clean and processed shot and then [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=4141123]this video[/link] shows a totally clean version so you can see how that bouncing translates to the video. While shooting the objective video that you are talking about, I was flying for the ground camera and not for AP, so I wasn't as careful about hovering and make smooth transitions from each location. No matter how careful you are though, the camera mount will move. It's not as bad as it looks as you will see in those links.

Hi Sky High

Thanks for the reply, I am amazed at the way the editing removes that bounce, so i guess there is the answer, its prob way easier to remove that "ball shake" than interference and vibration, i am guessing.

I'm sure it said somewhere, but what software was that done with?

Marty
