Glow plug a day
I have a stock Nitro Stampede with a nitro sport header and exhaust pipe. The truck works great except after every run i have to replace the glow plug with a new one.
I bash in my front yard, starting with a full tank and running to empty. I then put it in my garage for the night and the next time i try to run it, the glow plug light doesn't light. This happened last season even with the stock exhaust.
Any help would be appreciated.
I use the super duty plugs which run at $8 a pop. Way too much for 15 minutes
Thanks

It is way over break-in and yes i do run it until it is out of gas.
I run very rich so that it creates a large amount of smoke.
Richer than factory settings

Theres no need to run it too rich , running too rich or too lean is a sure fire way to go through glow plugs . i would imagine your blown plugs are dark and oily . running an engine too rich is not good for the engine either as un burnt fuel deposits will also effect the performance.

Why run it rich? That as well as running lean, takes a toll on the engine. Not too mention greatly reduces the life....

When they suggest to turn it off by pinching the needle, isn't that the same thing?
It is written in the manual to turn it off that way.
It doesn't slowly lean out either.

Don't get angry man, just my suggestion... I have had the same glow plug in my MAXX and my JATO for about ohhh, a month (atleast)... The only reason I had to change my plug in the REVO was a tuning issue... My bad on that one. Thanks to SNOOk, it's all set now.

RE: Glow plug a day
I wasn't mad, I was just explaining why I do it the way i do. I will take your advice though.
Are there any other glow plugs that work with EasyStart besides the traxxas ones?
Once tried a third party except the wire wouldn't fit.
Thanks for your advice

The o.s. 8 will work. You just have to spread the spring a little bit.
I take off the blue ignitor wire and use a glow ignitor, saves my starter battery...
