GAH I HATE THIS! everything is breaking!!!
okay so i got my electric evader bx last christmas, within that same christmas week i broke the rear shock tower by doing half a barrel roll off a slanted curb. i wasnt more than 1 foot off the ground when i landed, which broke the top of the shock tower. i got that fixed, and didnt break anything for quite some time. a week or two ago i broke a hub carrier and an axle arm off by running into a wall at a slant about half speed (long story how that happened, but it was totally MY bad driving that caused it.) then, just today, about 10 minutes ago actually. i was tearing up my driveway with the buggy. there is a small pothole/manhole in the middle of my street that is about a one inch dip. i drove full speed across the street. both right wheels went into the pothole, which hasnt done anything to the buggy in the past, it seems like no problem. when my right rear wheel dipped in and came to the other side, it totally ripped a chunk out of the rear chassis plate. the rear suspension arm was stil attached to the chunk of rear chassis plate. i have no idea why it did this, all i was doing was driving on a totally flat street. it was at least 50 deggrees F outside! augh it makes me so mad. its hardly my fault! Well the problem is, you have an evader. The biggest pos electric vehicles ever produced. The plastic is so brittle its painful to see that they are still selling it. You should try to sell it and get an evader pro. The evader pro is made out of graphite and duratrax's graphite is much much much stronger than their plastic. Actually to think of it, a half a mm thick of glass is tougher than duratrax plastic. If you dont want to get rid of it, just replace whatever you break with graphite parts. That way they will be much more durable. Most of the accidents are your fault I mean cmon, driving into a wall and into a pothole? That IS your fault. Then the crappy car you have also kicks in some. If you replace the parts with graphite or just sell the car you will be much better off and a happier rc'er.

1" pothole/dip TO YOU but for a small scale car isn't that ~60% height of the chassis? Think how a full scale car would be if you drive over a 2' high speed bump/pothole. [X(]

true... but you cant apply the same physics because of mass, weight distrubution and design differences.

i see. i do understand that meny people have had bad luck with their evader and its probly why most hobby shop that i know of dont carry duratrax products anymore. but ill probly stay true to my evader untill it finally dies when some major jump kills it but so far ive have had very good luck with mine. but i do feel bad for the meny others that have had bad luck their evader and i hope they havent given up on duratrax yet cuz i have had excellent luck with both of my duratrax products (truck and peak charger). its sucks that so meny evaders have been giving people problem i hope it doesnt soil the evader name too much. lol

The one inch pothole was merely the straw that broke the camel's back. In all likelihood, the part had been stressed from previous incidents that a seemingly small bump finished it off.

man some people need to chill out. i dont think im a terrible driver, i meant to drive into the pothole because it hasnt done a thing in the past, but like i8tweety said, it most likely was craced or stressed beforehand. the crashing into the wall thing was a result of bald tires and wet cement, i expected to slide a whole lot more than i did. the first time was when i was just learning to drive, and it was cold. additionally, my lhs seems to carry a sizeable collection of PLASTIC evader/duratrax parts behind the counter. and yes, the truck is cheap, its just a start. im hoping on getting an ebay savage soon. and i have quite enough moo-lah

rock_the_stock- I agree with you, ppl need to calm down.
The things I've noticed on my Evader is that the plastic is actually Durable as long as you drive in a warm climate, but when its cold, its brittle like glass!
I know it's not a great plastic but I can also choose not to bash to hard during the winter, and if something would break Duratrax replaces the part, no questions asked, within a year of purchase that is.
I cant say this and that about the motor, shure it has started to sound bad, but I havent seen any notable perfomence dips yet.
About your crack in the "rear chassis plate", I did the exakt (at least we think it was me) damage to my friends Evader, but it was om his right rear wheel, the exact!!!!that chunk blew off and that crack accoured. So I guess the "plate" is the weakest point on the evader. The crack accoured while me "bumping" into his Evader, with mine, at maybe... 15 mph or so, it was snow outside so I wouldnt steer the car clear from his, it just skidded right onto him.

I myself have replaced the Rear Chassi Plate, the Transmission Bracer and the Rear Shock Tower with aluminum. To be noted though is that I got access to machinery and a wealth of knowlage in my family so I had it custom made
Don't have a digital camera so can't post any pictures but I'm really happy with it now and hopefully it will hold better, If I don't break the whole main chassi or the arms that is

you guys and pushing around duratrax. it is the newbies that get the car for its cheap, then they break it out of stupidity, they complain about it, the non newbies hear the roomers then they pass them around not trying the damn car and so every one is against evader. shame shame
newbie=[sm=bananahead.gif]
newbie X carlessness=roomers+[sm=punching.gif]=poor duratrax.
