Default 12X REPLACEMENT SWITCH QUESTION.

Question for the JR/Horizon folks...

Would it be possible to replace the three way switch on the top left of the 12X with a push button switch?

It would be a great location for the smoke button!!!! Just like the trusty ole 10X.

Thanks

DF

They really ought to make a custom transmitter for you Doug. One where the button is on the back housing just under your index finger. That way you wont ever hardly have to lift a finger to spew the smoke oil!

Doug,

Yes, it is possible. I spoke to JR and they confirmed. Obviously it will void your warranty, but that's it.

Tony Stillman has the switches and can do the conversion. My transmitter is being shipped to him next week

the only thing is when they swap them out the nomenclature on the switches remains the same. i fly with a 10X heli version and i had the Aux4 and Aux5 pots replaced with a 2 and 3 position switch. i had horizon do it and it didn't have any effect on my warranty.

They told me that they could not do the modification. Doug, give them a call first.

dunno why they'd tell you they can't, they told me they could, then i shipped it in, got a call the day after they received it asking if i wanted long or short levers on the switches (i didn't mention that). the guy explained that any programming i currently had mixed with Aux4 or Aux5 needed to be checked very closely and a few days later i had it back with 2 switches. Aux4 a 2 position for tail hook and Aux5 a 3 position for turbine control.

Looks like there is an addendum out, but i don't know how to get this upgrade on to the radio....Looks like you can use the flap trim switches as momentary buttons now...
