O.S. 21TM - Working on the Revo!
One thing that always amazes me about Traxxas is their dedication to a careful design. Every time I want to change something on my Revo, and I have to take it apart, I always discover that the person(s) who designed this truck really put some thought into it.
I’m not even going to mention the Revo’s suspension design, or the easy start system, (things that no other company has) because those have been discussed many times before. I want to concentrate on the little things which make a modelers life easier. How easy it is to work on your Revo?
Turns out, it’s a piece of cake! Let’s take the arms for example. I replaced them all on my Revo 3.3 with RPM arms. I had no idea what I was doing, yet I completed the task in less than an hour. Not too many screws to screw around with, simple logic, and voila!
Yesterday I had to replace the stock engine, with an O.S. 21TM. Now here’s a task I thought. It seems though that Traxxas and O.S. engineers left me with no room for error. The new engine fits exactly where the stock one was, it’s only four screws, and I didn’t even have to mess around with the throttle linkage, because apparently Traxxas engineers came up with a way to control the carburetor without screwing the throttle linkage on it.
There are plenty of other examples like changing the travel rockers, or the shock absorbers, installing the tekno wing mount, replacing the easy start wires, converting to single steering servo. All very carefully designed to prevent human error and make my working experience on the Revo 3.3 pleasant.
oh yeah, don't even ask me about the pipe Since I had to fix it, I thought "what the hell"

The engine is fantastic! The Revo absolutely SCREAMS! I'm having a hard time keeping it on four wheels. I also installed the Traxxas Resonator pipe, which gives it even more low end power. So it's a pretty "torquie" truck
High end is not bad either. Definately faster than the stock TRX 3.3 engine. Everyone at the track is very impressed. I honestly didn't expect anything less from an O.S. engine. But hey, they've been making engines for 70 years now

Note he is in Cyprus . You can get a O.S 21TM on ebay for at least 300, not worth it at all...not even worth 250.

The black market prices for that thing are insane. I imagine it will still be around 225 to 250 when it comes out here though.

Maybe it's expensive there, but like I said, if it was any other engine brand, I wouldn't even bother bidding on it

Dude, why do you keep saying that about this engine? Believe me, this engine is NOT expensive if you compare it with the prices over here. Whenever I tell someone that I bought this thing for 126CYP they go WOW thats cheap!!!
